Permanently Progressing? - Building secure futures for children in Scotland is a research study run jointly by the University of Stirling and University of York, in collaboration with Adoption and Fostering Alliance (AFA) Scotland. The first stage of the research will be completed this year, as part of a planned longitudinal study to follow a cohort of children in Scotland as they grow up

Moving Images: using video clips in finding adoptive families for children

AFA Scotland, Scotland's Adoption Register and the University of Glasgow are working on a new project about the use of video clips in family finding, called the Moving Images Project. The research team for this project consists of Professor Karen Lury, Therese Lynch and Dr Maggie Grant.

New Research Assistant Coming to AFA

Evaluation of Securing Children's Futures Postgraduate Course

A comprehensive evaluation report on the Securing Children's Futures postgraduate course was published in November 2017.

The course has now been running for over 10 years, it is provided by AFA Scotland and accredited by the University of Strathclyde.The evaluation focused on the impact of undertaking the course for evaluation of the course for participants and the agencies they work for.
