Adoption Week Scotland will run from 15th - 19th November 2021

It offers an opportunity to raise the profile of adoption, encourage discussions about what adopting a child now involves and to highlight the continuing need to find adopters for children who are unable to remain with their families.

The national programme of events helps bring the issue to public attention, with the intention that  agencies can capitalise on the wider publicity to run campaigns or promote debate in their own areas.

A short information/planning meeting (held online via MS Teams) for agencies is planned for Wednesday 25 August 2021: 10.00am – 10.45am and will  provide local authorities, adoption agencies and others with an opportunity:

  • to get information about the outline plan for AWS 2021 and the programme of nationally organised events
  • to identify supports or resources that would be useful for agencies to receive in order to run campaigns/ to promote adoption in their area
  • to hear from other agencies about plans for the week and things that they have found successful in the past.
